John O’Dowd is Vice President of Intergolf and heads up the construction side of the organisation. His vast project management experience has been built up over a period of three decades within which time he has worked on a wide array of construction projects all over the world.
John began his career in England and Germany before moving to New York in 1982 where he project-managed the construction of various schools for a number of different companies. In 1997 John returned to England to oversee the building of a 1,000 home development, completing this job in two years, before then going on to manage the construction of the power distribution centre in London’s iconic Millennium Dome.
Since 2002 John has worked with Intergolf, and now brings his extensive construction and excavation experience to bear upon the creation of golf courses worldwide. Not a man to be found sitting in his office, John will invariably be on-hand and on-site throughout the duration of a project. If his 27 years of experience have taught him anything it’s the value of being right at the heart of the process from the first stage of site clearance to the final grow-in.
